The California Wind Energy Collaborative (CWEC) hopes to support the industry by providing interested individuals with a comprehensive and technical foundation of wind energy. Instead of replacing or duplicating on-the-job training, this course augments it by focusing on core fundamentals that traditionally aren't covered, including aerodynamics, structural loads, power electronics, and control systems. The course is nominally for technicians but is also appropriate for operators, engineers, business office personnel, decision makers, or anyone seeking a better understanding of the technology and science driving the industry.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide a forum for stakeholders and the general public to hear about and discuss the most recent research conducted related to wind power development and wildlife. Examine what has been learned, discuss methods for minimizing or mitigating wind energy's adverse/undesirable impacts on wildlife, identify questions about wind power development opportunities and impacts related to wildlife, and identify gaps in knowledge and research needs.

The California Wind Energy Collaborative (CWEC) is conducting a Small Wind Energy Workshop to address the issues and hurdles facing small wind energy in California.
