GIS/Regionalization for EERE - Modeling Workshops

BACKGROUND: EERE's technologies and resources are often regionally specific in terms of availability, cost, and performance. The benefits of EERE's work also are often local in nature, such as reduced emissions. This work is focused on developing the capability of modeling the resources for, the use of, benefits/costs, and other aspects of EERE technologies on a regional basis.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) workshops were convened to review the state of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and regionalization in the National Energy Modeling System (NEMS) and other EERE models, as well as identify best practices and gaps, and provide guidance for program planning.

The agendas and presentations of the FY04 and FY05 workshops are available on the GIS area of this Web site.
