Leadership Committee
The Leadership Committee for the Energy Collaborative Analysis Initiative will help guide ongoing initiative activities, promote further interagency collaboration, and inform policy making. The group, which will meet four-six times a year, will remain focused on high-priority and common energy analysis needs – and steps that can collectively be taken to address those needs.
Access the Events page for information on upcoming meetings.
Committee priorities
- Developing a second workshop. Participants in the first workshop recommended holding a second workshop to facilitate further collaboration. DOE is leading its development, but looking for input and supplemental financial support from other agencies. The leadership committee will:
- Guide the structure of the workshop, including networking opportunities
- Identify appropriate speakers on high-priority energy analysis activities and topics
- Discuss potential new energy analysis topics that deserve attention
- Determining topics and speakers for web forums. DOE is currently organizing a bimonthly Web forum designed to clarify the current status of analysis; identify best practices; and find ways to improve analysis tools, information, and capabilities. These interactive Web forums will not only present results from analyses, they also will allow discussion of preliminary results and solicit input on methodologies and assumptions, which will facilitate interagency collaboration. The leadership committee will:
- Select the topics on which the forums will focus
- Identify potential speakers and related activities
- Facilitating activity participation and integration. The committee will review collaborative activities that are underway or planned, and identify opportunities for enhanced participation and coordination of these activities.
- Communication mechanisms. The committee will also provide feedback on communication mechanisms used by the collaborative (e.g., Web site, newsletter, etc.) to help improve their value.
